Go takes leadership in San Mig drag race series

MANILA, Philippines – Following a huge win at the Clark International Speedway, Jeannette Go of JCT-Blanche Racing took a step closer to another important feat after assuming the overall lead in the Hotstreet class of the National Trophy Series in the San Mig Coffee National Drag Racing Championship. Beating a mostly male field, Go romped to her second straight triumph to gain a total of 30 points in the event sanctioned by the Automobile Association of the Philippines (AAP). “It feels good to win, but it's hard to stay on top," Go said. "So I'll just do my best in the last three legs and hopefully everything goes smoothly." If she maintains her form in the next three legs, Go can take her second straight Hotstreet championship, after winning the Northern Series of the PAGCOR Sports Drag Racing Championship. She is 10 points ahead of Boy Francisco of Team Ready, followed by Cholo Dayrit (15 points, Forced Speed) and Juan Miguel Gutierrez (10 points). In the Expert class, John Kalaw made himself a contender following a victory in his category that put him in third place overall. Kalaw's 15 points, trails Jonathan Young (30 points) and Junmar Tabalino (20 points). – GMANews.TV
