No other dream for Archuleta than singing
By KIMBERLY JANE TAN, GMANews.TV
MANILA, Philippines - Other than singing, no other dream has ever occupied American Idol Season 7 runner-up David Archuleta. âI donât really have any other dream," he said during an interview aired over Magic 89.9âs radio show Friday. According to the 18-year-old singer-songwriter, he would probably even settle for a small-time career just so he would get to practice his music. âIf it werenât an international career, it [would] probably [be] at least a domestic career," he said. And despite his acting stints on Nickelodeonâs iCarly and Disneyâs Hannah Montana, Archuleta said that heâs probably not made for acting either. âBefore until recently I thought I couldnât act, Iâd say Iâm a terrible actor," he said jokingly. He said, however, that the quick appearances were âa lot of fun." âBut for now, Iâm definitely interested in mainstream music," he was quick to add. The Idol star, on the other hand, said that he recognizes how music and acting careers tend to become short-lived. âI donât know how long it will last, as much as Iâd love to have a career in singing all my life and make a living off of it, you donât know what can happen, sometimes it even lasts even for a year," he said. With that in mind, Archuleta said, itâs really important to keep oneâs education âongoing." âItâs an important thing to have there, education always comes in handy anyway," he said. He added that besides choir period â which he said probably doesnât count â his favorite academic subject would be English. âI really liked English, Iâm really bad at writing papers, but everything else I just love it," he said. - GMANews.TV
