Slippery floor forces PBA to cancel Gineba-Alaska road game

MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) decided to reset for next week the game between Ginebra and Alaska due to the unplayable condition of the Albay Astrodome in Legaspi City. The game was twice stopped, the last at the 8:04 mark of the first quarter due to the slippery court. The Kings were holding on to a 9-2 lead when the game was stopped. League officials said the postponed Fiesta Cup road game will likely be played on May 22 at the Araneta Coliseum. San Miguel and Coke are set to play in Dubai on that same day in a similar game postponed earlier. The game was delayed for more than an hour and a half owing to the slippery floor of the Albay Astrodome. Both teams were ordered to return to their respective dugouts as organizers try to remedy the playing condition. Behind the three-pointer of JayJay Helterbrand, the Kings were up 3-0 with 41 seconds gone by in the opening round when play was ordered stop. – GMANews.TV
