Top cyclists vie for top honors in Batangas race

MANILA, Philippines – Local cycling’s big names have confirmed their participation in next week’s race in Batangas dubbed the “Padyakan sa Batangas Eh!" from May 23 to 25. Former Tour champions Arnel Quirimit and Warren Davadilla, 2009 Tour of Luzon King of the Mountain Baler Ravina, and newest cycling sensation, the recently crowned Tour of Luzon champion Mark Guevarra are some of cycling’s stars that will compete for the P50,000 top purse. Also seeing action are Sprint King Sherwin Diamsay and the Bong Sual-managed the Road Bike/7-11 team. The race, which is the bigger version of last year’s “Tour de Ala-Eh", was organized by the Batangas Toursim Office. Sports patron Janno Marasigan will also provide special prize for the Sprint King winner. More than P200,000 in cash prizes await all the winners. – GMANews.TV
