After loss to Pacquiao, Hatton deals with ex-trainer’s £1M suit, too

MANILA, Philippines – Still licking his wounds from his devastating loss to Manny Pacquiao, Ricky Hatton faces another nagging problem: Ex-trainer Billy Graham is suing him for more than £1million. According to Mirror, Graham claimed that Hatton still owes him the huge amount as his share from the Hitman’s fight with Floyd Mayweather, Jr. in 2007 and his showdown with Juan Lazcano of Mexico last year. In a High Court writ, Graham, Hatton’s long-time trainer who was unceremoniously given the boot last July, said he’s only been paid £530,000 for the Mayweather gig, which he insisted is less than the 10 percent he is entitled to. As for the Lazcano bout, the 53-year-old Graham maintained that he has received nothing to date. Hatton was recently toppled by Pacquiao as king of the light-welterweight wars. His two-round demolition was so painful that it still eats up the fighter from Manchester two weeks after the fight. The Hitman is currently doing a soul-searching on whether to give fighting another shot or retire altogether and pursue a career as promoter. –GMANews.TV
