Kho blames drugs for his taking Halili videos

MANILA, Philippines – The saying "when there’s drug, there’s sex" seems to be true for controversial celebrity doctor Hayden Kho. GMA News has obtained a transcript of text messages of Hayden to Katrina Halili’s road manager Omar Bortijas prior to the proliferation of their sex video scandal in the Internet this week. In her report aired over GMA News' "24 Oras" on Friday, Tina Panganiban-Perez said that according to Bortijas, Hayden texted him several times since December 2008 about the sex video. In one message sent last December 2008, Kho admitted that he had a video, but he denied that there was a celebrity in it. It was in a May 17, 2009, text message that Kho admitted to Bortijas that he have four videos with Katrina. "There r [are] 4 videos with kat [Katrina]' I’m not mistaken, 2 dancing, 1 talking, and 1 obscene," was the text message of Kho to Bortijas. The report added that Hayden asked Bortijas for understanding about the controversy and blamed his addiction to drugs has led him and Halili to commit the mistake. "Alam mo ang buong istorya kung paano nagsimula ang lahat ng ‘to, Omar; and drugs have a lot to do with this," the text message said. In a separate report, lawyer Lorna Kapunan, Kho's counsel, said her client had admitted to her that he was hooked in drugs when he took the videos. "They all happened when he was a drug user. These all happened before December when he was getting his treatment," according to Kapunan. Since December, Kho has been under the care of five psychiatrists and a psychologist. Kho had also voluntarily stopped practicing his medical profession, according to Kapunan. For his part, Sen Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr., suspected that camp of Kho was just using the alleged drug addiction problem to get away with the video scandal. "Palusot ng mga magagaling na abogado.
