Explosive device found in Agusan del Norte port area

MANILA, Philippines - An improvised explosive device (IED) was found in Butuan City in Agusan Del Norte province on Monday, a radio report said. Radio dzBB reported that the IED was found near the Super Ferry office in the city’s port area. The device reportedly contained half a kilo of ammonium nitrate – a white crystalline solid that can be exploded by detonation. The report quoted authorities as saying that if the bomb had exploded, it would have caused deaths of people and great damage to establishments around the area.
