Hot weather to persist 1 to 2 more weeks - Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines - The hot weather that has plagued Metro Manila and nearby areas may go on for one to two more weeks before the rains come in, state weather forecasters said Tuesday. Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration forecaster Bernie de Leon said this is due to the ridge of a high-pressure area across Luzon. "So far hanggang mga isang linggo pa o tumagal ng halos dalawang linggo [So far, our forecasting shows this hot weather may persist for one to two weeks more]," de Leon said in an interview on dzBB radio. He said the temperature range for the next few days will remain at between 25 to 35 degress Celsius, especially between noon and 2 p.m. Meanwhile, Pagasa said in its 5 a.m. bulletin the whole country will experience partly cloudy to at times cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening. "Light to moderate winds blowing from the east and southeast will prevail over Luzon and Visayas and coming from the east over the rest of the country. The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate," it said. - GMANews.TV
