Lozada: I was blocked from entering Batasan
MANILA, Philippines - ZTE-NBN witness Rodolfo Noel "Jun" Lozada Jr. on Tuesday said he was blocked by House security from entering the Batasan Complex in Quezon City to watch the debates on the measure pushing for a constituent assembly. Lozada, who was later allowed to enter the session hall, said he was not even allowed to be interviewed within the compound. The embattled witness said he was alarmed by the House's decision to pass House Resolution 1109 even without the participation of the Senate. "Natatakot ako na mukhang tuloy-tuloy na ang panggagahasa sa Saligang Batas natin [I am frightened that there seems to be a rape of our Constitution']," he said. Lozada hogged the headlines last year when he appeared before the investigation of the Senate blue ribbon committee on the allegedly anomalous $329.48-million national broadband network deal the Arroyo government entered with China's Zhong Xing Telecommunications Equipment (ZTE) Corp. Lozada implicated former poll chairman Benjamin Abalos Sr. in the controversy. - Johanna Camille Sisante, GMANews.TV
