DOJ summons Belo, Kho over sex video scandal

MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Justice on Wednesday ordered popular cosmetic surgeon Vicki Belo and Dr. Hayden Kho Jr. to appear on or before June 19 for the preliminary investigation of the criminal complaint filed against them by actress Katrina Halili. The complaint stemmed from the uploading of Kho’s sex videos with several women, among them Halili. The actress said the video was taken without her consent. Belo and Kho – along with two other respondents, engineer Eric Johnston Chua and Dr. Mark Herbert “Bistek" Rosario – were accused of violating Republic Act 9262, or Violence against Women and Children. Senior State Prosecutor Emilie Fe de los Santos, head of the panel of prosecutors that will investigate the case, has also subpoenaed Chua and Rosario. Constituting the panel are Senior State Prosecutor Rose Ann Balauag and State Prosecutors Maria Lourdes Uy, Hjilmar Quintana Jr., and Xerxes Garcia. Halili met with Justice Secretary Raul Gonzalez on Tuesday to thank him for putting Kho’s name in the Bureau of Immigration’s watch list. She also met with incoming Justice Secretary Agnes Devanadera before going to the office of De los Santos to follow up her case. In her complaint, the young actress alleged that the respondents may have something to do with the dissemination of her sex video and its uploading on the Internet. In his affidavit before the NBI, Chua said it was Belo who ordered him to produce copies of the sex videos of Kho from his laptop. - GMANews.TV
