European Union condemns military coup in Honduras

CORFU, Greece – The European Union is condemning the military coup in Honduras and calling for the immediate return of the deposed president.
Earlier Sunday, Honduran soldiers broke into the presidential palace in Tegucigalpa, disarmed the guards and arrested President Manuel Zelaya.
A statement released by the EU's 27 foreign ministers described the overthrow of Zelaya as an "unacceptable violation of the constitutional order in Honduras."
The statement says the bloc wants his immediate release and "a return to constitutional normality." - AP
