2 tons of tainted meat seized in QC - report

MANILA, Philippines - At least two tons of "double dead" or tainted meat were seized in a market in Quezon City before dawn Thursday, but authorities failed to catch those behind the commodity.
Radio dzBB reported that police and city health officials found the meat at the EDSA Balintawak Market, but those who brought the meat already fled.
Dr. Rolando Marquez, director of the National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS) Task Force Bantay, said those selling the meat may have been tipped off.
The meat was brought to the NMIS office. - GMANews.TV
