Gov’t nurses turn Capiz hospital into a boxing ring

MANILA, Philippines — Two nurses at a government hospital in Capiz province found themselves in trouble after turning their workplace into a boxing ring, an online news site reported Wednesday. The two male nurses tried to settle their differences with a fistfight while on duty at the Capiz Emmanuel Hospital on Sunday, and got suspended as a result, The News Today (www.thenewstoday.info) said. CEH Administrator Jessie Contreras was quoted in the report as saying said he suspended Rowie Cortesta and Noel Christopher Gerona for three days without pay as a disciplinary action. He said he also warned them they will be knocked out from the service should there be a "Round 2" inside the hospital, especially while on duty. Contreras said the two staff nurses have "forgiven" each other, and promised that there will be no return bout. - GMANews.TV
