Cebu Pacific to start daily flights to Kuala Lumpur

Gokongwei-led Cebu Pacific Air Inc. will start daily flights to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia starting Sept. 16, vice president for marketing and distribution Candice Iyog said.

In a statement, Iyog said the budget carrier would be offering a seat sale to Kota Kinabalu and Kuala Lumpur for P499 and P1,999 respectively. Sale period is from July 29 to July 31 for travel from Sept. 1 to Nov. 30, 2009.

“Malaysia has always enjoyed a great demand from our Filipino travel market, and we are glad to reduce our trademark low fares to make it even more accessible to every Juan. Kota Kinabalu and Kuala Lumpur are also home to our overseas Filipino workers. We hope they take advantage of our seat sale to spend more time at home," she added.

The “Go Lite" promo fares are exclusive of the Philippine travel tax. Those with checked-in luggage only have to add P200 when booking.

Cebu Pacific, which has the most ASEAN destinations from the Philippines, started flying to Kuala Lumpur in 2006 and Kota Kinabalu in 2008.

It also flies to 12 other Asian cities and 32 domestic destinations from four hubs, utilizing the youngest aircraft fleet in the Philippines.

“We are very pleased that more Filipinos will be able to experience the wonders of Malaysia, with Cebu Pacific now offering daily flights to Kuala Lumpur and its very low fares to Kuala Lumpur and Kota Kinabalu," Tourism Malaysia-Manila Director Masrina Mohd Bakri said. -GMANews.TV
