Kris Aquino prefers third baby over politics

Television personality Kris Aquino on Monday said she prefers to have another baby than run for an elective post. “2010 or 2016 seems unlikely. Why? I’ll tell you now, I want to have another baby," Kris told co-host Boy Abunda in an interview during her return to SNN (Showbiz News Ngayon). Kris took a leave of absence from the entertainment show late last month to attend to her then ailing mother, former President Corazon “Cory" Aquino, who died August 1 after several months of battling colon cancer. Mrs. Aquino was buried last Wednesday at the Manila Memorial Park in Parañaque City. Her death had fueled calls for Kris and Sen. Benigno “Noynoy" Aquino III, the late democracy icon's only son, to join politics supposedly to continue her legacy. Kris said she wants her third child to be a girl. “So sana if mom and dad are listening they’ll give us a girl para yung sister alagaan in the same way na tina-try ko alagaan ngayon si Noy (Noynoy) and yung mga kapatid kong babae tina-try suportahan si Noy," she said. (I hope it will be girl so that she can take care of her brothers the same way I and my sisters are taking care of Noynoy.) At present, Kris has two sons – Joshua from actor Philip Salvador, and Baby James from cager James Yap, to whom she is married. Kris said taking care of her two sons remains her utmost priority. “At this point I am not ready to be a politician. Marami akong obligasyon (I’ve many obligations). The first and primary obligation (is) Josh and Baby James. By 2010 Baby James won’t even be in pre-school," she said. According to Kris, she would continue what her mom had started by supporting non-government organizations (NGOs). “I feel I’m in the position to do that," she said. - GMANews.TV
