Jinkee Pacquiao: No rift with PacMom

The phenomenal success of Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao has turned the spotlight on the two most important women in his life. With Jinkee Pacquiao (Manny's wife) and mother-in-law Mommy Dionisia currently being swamped with showbiz-related offers, rumor has it that the two Pacquiao ladies are not in good terms allegedly brought by professional and even personal jealousy. "Hindi ko nga alam na may intriga," a surprised Jinkee replied when told about the issue. PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) together with other members of the entertainment press had the chance to interview Jinkee—who is the new endorser of the Belo Medical Group's Smart Lipo—last August 11 at Dolce Superclub on Tomas Morato, Quezon City. Continued Jinkee, "Happy ako sa nangyayari sa kanya (Mommy Dionisia). 'Yong sinasabi nilang naiinggit ako sa kanya, wala akong inggit. Basta happy ako para sa kanya." Their newfound fortune as celebrities had in fact brought Jinkee and Mommy Dionisia closer. Aside from Manny, the highs and lows of show business have served as a common ground for both women to openly talk about during casual conversations. "Mas close nga kami ngayon," the new Belo endorser confided. "Kasi meron siyang ginagawang movie and commercial. Tapos sinasabi niya na ano pala, nakakapagod din pala kahit commercial lang kasi inaabot ng alas-onse ng gabi, ganun. Sabi ko, 'Ok lang 'yan as long as isang araw lang 'yong shoot o two days, at least may pera ka na." As for her husband's plan to pursue public office after relinquishing his storied career as a boxer, Jinkee—who was very upfront in sharing her concern—said, "Napag-usapan na namin 'yon. As long as kailangan niyang iwasan 'yong intriga tsaka 'yong temptation. Alam kong alam na niya 'yon. Alam niya 'yong tama at mali na puwede niyang gawin. Basta nandito lang ako para suportahan siya. Kasi 'yon yung gusto siguro ng Diyos para sa amin, na maging public servant siya, suportahan ko na lang siya." - Philippine Entertainment Portal
