Arroyo spokesman, actor take oaths as NPC members

Deputy presidential spokesman Anthony Golez Jr. and actor Cesar Montano on Wednesday took their oaths as members of the Nationalist People's Coalition (NPC) in Quezon City. But Golez, in an interview with GMANews.TV, refused to reveal what position he is eyeing for next year's elections. He also did not say why he picked NPC over Lakas-Kampi-CMD party, which is chaired by President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo. “Titingan mo rin kasi kung may naka-field na (sa certain location) doon ang Lakas," he said. A report in Visayan Daily Star said Golez would be running for congressman of Bacolod, while Montano - a defeated administration senatorial candidate in 2007 - is eyeing the governorship of Bohol. The report said NPC president and former Rizal Rep. Frisco San Juan swore in Golez and Montano at the NPC Clubhouse. NPC chairman and former Isabela Gov. Faustino Dy Jr. served as witness. The oath-taking came less than a month after Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. left the NPC for the administration Lakas-Kampi-CMD party. - with Aie Balagtas See, GMANews.TV
