Fifteen people were injured in yet another bus accident in Quezon province Tuesday night, a radio report said Wednesday.
Radio dzRH reported the incident occurred hours after an angry President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo ordered authorities to crack down on reckless bus drivers.
The report said the incident, which occurred at Malicboy village in Pagbilao town in Quezon province, involved a speeding Elavil bus (EDC-462) that hit two other buses after its brakes failed.
Police filed charges of reckless imprudence resulting in physical injury against the driver, initially identified as Jaime Erselbia.
Initial investigation showed the Elavil bus was heading north from Samar province when it hit a Peñafrancia bus (TYM-942) and a Philtranco bus that were heading south.
All the injured were passengers of the Elavil bus, the dzRH report said.
Only last Monday, at least nine people were killed and more than 40 injured after two buses collided in Lucena City, also in Quezon province. - GMANews.TV
