PAL sells discounted tickets for INC members abroad


Iglesia ni Cristo members who are staying overseas can pay last respects to executive minster Eraño Manalo as flag carrier Philippine Airlines Inc. is offering discounted tickets. In a statement, PAL President Jaime J. Bautista said owner Lucio Tan has instructed the airline company to give special discounted prices for those who wish to come home. “This is PAL's modest way of showing respect and camaraderie with millions of INC members worldwide who are mourning Ka Erdy's passing," he added. President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has declared Sept. 7 as a non-working holiday to “national day of mourning" in honor of the 84-year old religious leader, who passed away due to cardiopulmonary arrest. Tickets are for sale at the PAL Website , ticket offices and other selected agents. “Rebooking is allowed on the return flight only within ticket validity; fees apply," the statement read. There is a free baggage allowance for US passengers at 50 pound per piece. Sales, ticketing and travel are valid from Sept. 2 to 9, 2009.
