Filipino medical staff needed in Yemen

The Alordhai Hospital in Yemen is in urgent need of 27 Filipino medical personnel, the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) said Monday.

The POEA said that the Alordahi Hospital is in need of 10 Intensive Care Unit (ICU) nurses, 10 Coronary Care Unit (CCU) nurses, three scrub nurses, two doctors, and two laboratory technicians.

All the nurses are expected to have at least four years work experience. ICU nurses are expected to specialize in post cardiac surgery.

Doctors, on the other hand, must specialize in the ICU and must have at least four to five years work experience.

Lab technicians must have at least three years work experience.

The pay for nurses ranges from $700 to $1,000 (P34,000 to 49,000), for doctors from $1,500 to $2,500 (P73,000 to 121,000), and for lab technicians from $500 to $700 (P24,000 to P34,000).

The POEA did, however, clarify that the salary offer will depend on the applicant’s length of relevant experience.

Qualified applicants may personally submit a detailed resumé with job description, school credentials, employment certificates, passport copy and two pieces 2X2 recent picture at the Manpower Registry Division, Window M, Ground Floor, Blas F. Ople Building (formerly POEA Bldg.), Ortigas Avenue corner EDSA, Mandaluyong City.

They may also register online at the POEA website or at www.eregister.poea.gov.ph.

Online applicants will be asked to present original documents for authentication.

The deadline for the submission of applications is on Sept. 18, 2009. - GMANews.TV
