Metro roads that remain impassable to vehicles

Some roads in Metro Manila affected by tropical storm “Ondoy" have remained impassable, especially to light vehicles. Metro Manila Development Authority-Traffic Operations Center deputy chief Raul Golmatico told a television station Sunday night that Barangka village “remains problematic" and could not be used as entry point to Marikina City. He said the area was still being cleared by the MMDA. Alternate routes to Marikina are Marcos Highway, Calumpang, and P. Tuazon. Golmatico said C-5 Road or the circumferential road that stretches from Taguig City to Boni Serrano Avenue in Quezon City were already passable to vehicles.

Earlier in the day, the National Disaster Coordinating Council (NDCC) reported that portions of Malanday and Concepcion villages, also in Marikina, were also hardly passable. The NDCC said other metropolitan Manila roads that remain flooded are the following: Quezon City: E. Rodriguez Street corner Araneta Avenue Manila City: P. Florentino, starting from Maria Clara Street to Blumentritt; Makati City: J. Rizal Street in Guadalupe Viejo; Pasig City: Velasco, Urbano, Gahid, and Geronimo streets in the villages of Pinagbuhatan and Manggahan Malabon City: Tenejeros, M.H. del Pilar streets in Panghulo Road, Catmon to Governor Pascual, and Ampil village Valenzuela City: M.H. del Pilar in front of Pio Elementary School – Palasan C-4 Letre Road is not passable to all types of vehicles. - GMANews.TV
