Death toll in Laguna province climbs to 8

Eight people died, one went missing, and two others were hurt after Laguna province was badly hit by tropical storm "Ondoy." GMANews.TV got the information from Ernesto Montencillo, Laguna provincial social welfare officer. He issued the report at 1 p.m., Monday. The storm affected 72,170 families or 310,593 people in 19 municipalities covering 150 barangays (villages). The National Disaster Coordinating Council only recorded five casualties in Laguna as of Monday noon.
