Kennon Road now open to light vehicles

Baguio City is no longer isolated, as one of its main access roads has been reopened to motorists, the Cordillera Regional Disaster Coordinating Council said Sunday afternoon. Kennon Road, one of the three main road connecting the city to the adjacent Ilocos and Central Luzon regions, is now accessible to light vehicles as of 3 p.m. Sunday, after having been closed since Friday due to landslides. Department of Public Works and Highways engineer Constante Sarmiento stressed that it is important that the public follows the "light-vehicles only" rule to ensure the smooth flow of traffic on the road. Heavy vehicles have to wait until further notice before they can pass through the highway.
