Senate inspects Film Center bldg. for planned transfer

The Senate on Thursday afternoon conducted a preliminary ocular inspection of its target new home, the Film Center of the Philippines. Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri and Senator Edgardo Angara, finance committee chairman, inspected the grounds and façade of the building. “We didn’t go inside, we just inspected it from the outside," Angara said, adding that a thorough inspection of the building would be conducted soon. “I want to get first the total area of the building and the facilities there," Angara further said. The Senate has started negotiating with the Cultural Center of the Philippines, the administrator of the Film Center, regarding the chamber's planned transfer of its offices. The Film Center is now occupied by a Korean company showing “Amazing Philippines" that features transsexual performers. The senators believed the Film Center is more spacious and less pricey than its present location,– the Government Service Insurance System building. - Amita Legaspi, GMANews.TV
