A staff member of the National Disaster Coordinating Council (NDCC) faces an investigation for his alleged rude treatment of a radio reporter Wednesday morning.
Concurrent Defense Secretary and NDCC chairman Gilberto Teodoro Jr. said he will look into the incident involving an unnamed NDCC staff and dzBB reporter Allan Gatus.
"Nabalitaan ko [na] may nangyaring kaunting insidente, aalamin ko talaga ano [ang] nangyari (I learned of the incident and I will find out what happened)," Teodoro said in an interview on dzBB.
Gatus reported early Wednesday that he went to the NDCC headquarters in Camp Aguinaldo to inform the staff there of floods isolating nine villages in Aurora province.
He narrated that a staff of the NDCC allowed him to enter the operations center, which is usually considered off-limits.
But once there, another NDCC staff told him to get out.
Gatus narrated that when he told the second staff that he was allowed to enter the operations center's premises, he was reportedly told: "Pwes, pinalalabas kita (Now I am telling you to get out.)"
He said the NDCC staff who treated him rudely refused to give his name.
NDCC spokesman Lt. Col. Ernesto Torres Jr. said it was possible there was a "miscoordination" among the NDCC's staff.
"Bale nagkaroon siguro ng miscoordination ng staff natin (There may have been a miscoordination among our staff)," he said. - GMANews.TV
