Mga mambabatas hinikayat na 'wag panoorin sa US ang laban ni Pacquiao

MANILA - Sa halip na maging miron sa laban ni Pinoy boxing icon Manny Pacquiao sa Las Vegas, USA sa Nobyembre 15 (araw sa Pilipinas), pinayuhan ng Malacanang ang mga kongresista na manatili na lang sa bansa at gawin ang kanilang trabaho bilang mambabatas.

Ayon kay Deputy presidential spokeswoman Lorelei Fajardo, may sesyon na ang Kongreso simula sa Nobyembre 9 kaya mas makabubuting magtrabaho ang kongresista at bisitahin ang kanilang mga kababayan na naging biktima ng kalamidad.

“Kung tutuusin ‘di tayo dapat makialam sa decision lalo kung personal na pera ang kanilang gagastusin at walang kinalaman sa pondo ng bayan," pahayag ni Fajardo sa panayam ng dzXL radio.

"Kaya lang may pending bills... Ang moral support maraming paraan di kailangan tayo mismo nandoon para panoorin ang laban niya," idinagdag ng opisyal.

Nakatakdang gumawa ng kasaysayan sa boksing si Pacquiao bilang unang boksingero sa buong mundo na pitong ulit magiging kampeon kapag natalo niya si Miguel Cotto na hari ngayon sa welterweight division ng World Boxing Organization (WBO).

Walang Speaker sa Lunes

Magbubukas ang sesyon ng Kamara de Representantes sa Lunes na wala si Speaker Prospero Nograles dahil nasa US na ito ngayon at aminadong manonood ng laban ni Pacquiao sa Nov 15 sa Las Vegas.

Idinepensa rin ni Nograles ang mga mambabatas na nagbabalak na manood ng laban ni Pacquiao sa US dahil personal na pera nila ang gagastusin. Bukod dito, isang araw lang umano ng sesyon (Lunes) ang posibleng hindi nila madaluhan kung aalis ang mga ito ng Pilipinas sa Huwebes ng gabi at babalik ng bansa sa Martes.

“They are on their own, spending personal money and using regular Philippine passports," pahayag ng lider ng Kamara sa text message sa GMANews.TV.

Hindi umano alam ni Nograles kung ilan talaga ang kongresista na manonood ng laban ni Pacquiao bagaman may mga naunang ulat na hindi ito bababa sa 20 kongresista.

Iginiit ni Nograles na bahagi na siya ng “Team Pacquiao" at wala siyang pinalampas na laban ng tinaguriang “Pambansang Kamao" ng Pilipinas.

Aminado naman si Romblon Rep. Eleandro Jesus Madrona, chairman ng House committee on ethics, na wala silang kakayahan na basta imbestigahan ang pagbiyahe ng mga kongresista nang walang naghahain ng reklamo.

“Di namin pwede gawin motu propio. Kung walang complaint di kami pwede mag-action. Kailangan ng complaint," paliwanag niya sa hiwalay na panayam ng dzXL radio.

Duda naman si House minority leader Rep. Ronaldo Zamora (San Juan City) na sinasadya na papuntahin sa US ang mga mambabatas para maantala ang pag-apruba sa P1.415 trilyon 2010 budget.

“Kami iniisip namin talagang plano nila huwag magkaroon ng reenacted budget, gusto nila lahat na poder mapunta sa presidente gusto nila reenacted budget, in effect transforming the budget into a pork barrel fund," ayon kay Zamora. - GMANews.TV
