Opisyal ng LTO sa Iligan City, pati kapatid itinumba sa bala

Patay ang isang opisyal ng Land Transportation Office (LTO) sa Iligan City, nang barilian ng mga hindi kilalang suspek, at nadamay pa ang kanyang kapatid nitong Huwebes ng umaga.

Sinabi ni Senior Inspector Leslie Segualan sa GMANews.TV na naganap ang pamamaslang sa Barangay (village) Tubod dakong 8:30 a.m.

Lumitaw sa paunang imbestigasyon na papasok sa LTO office sa Iligan si Ali Datumanong, LTO assistant district head, at sakay ng Izusu Crosswind nang tambangan ng mga suspek .

Napag-alaman na si Datumanong rin ang pinuno ng licensing division ng LTO sa lungsod.

Kasamang napatay ng opisyal ang kapatid niyang si Ashrab Datumanong, na nagsisilbi niyang tagapagmaneho ng sasakyan.

Mabilis umanong tumakas ang mga suspek matapos matiyak na patay na ang biktima.

Nakakuha ang mga imbestigador ng basyo ng bala ng 45-caliber at 9-mm pistols.

Sinabi ni Makandas Mandangan, kawani ng LTO sa Iligan, na dadalhin ang mga labi ng biktima sa kanilang lalawigan sa Lanao del Sur.

Dahil sa insidente, itinigil na muna ang trabaho sa LTO sa Iligan bilang respeto sa mga biktima at masuri ang seguridad ng mga opisyal.

"This serves two purposes. One, in respect of our colleague. And also for security purposes," ayon kay Mandangan.

Inaalam pa ng mga imbestigador kung ano ang posibleng motibo sa pagpatay sa magkapatid na Datumanong.

Noong Mayo, nadawit sa kontrobersiya si Datumanong sa pagtatalaga ng hepe sa LTO-Iligan City dahil mas pinapaboran umano ng kawani sa tanggapan ang una kaysa sa naitalagang si Pando Pangandang.
