iGMA: Dingdong Dantes believes in StarStruck V

After two years, magbabalik na ang 'StarStruck' sa weekend primetime ng GMA-7--and to restart the hottest reality artista search, original 'StarStruck' host Dingdong Dantes makes a special appearance in the primer airing this November 8.

"I think it's just right that we didn't have StarStruck for two years." ‘Yan ang sinabi sa amin ni Dingdong during the shoot for StarStruck V's primer episode.

Dagdag ng original host ng reality artista search, "the truth is, it takes time to really develop and make a star. Kumbaga, one season is not enough. Yes, to discover--but to make a star? It would take years."

Not that Dingdong doesn't believe in StarStruck, because he does, 100%.

"I believe that StarStruck was successful discovering these talents who we all now see on TV, who are excelling also." And with this, he tell us, "it is right about time para maghanap na tayo ulit ng bago."

This time nga lang, Dingdong says, StarStruck is now looking for quality--not quantity.

"Hindi naman necessarily plenty, 'di ba?" The actor-host shares that they just might get two, "pero de-kalidad."

Two years na nga ang nakalipas since StarStruck: the Next Level, the search that gave us Aljur Abrenica, Kris Bernal and the biggest challenges. Ready na ba ang StarStruck to top it? Dingdong responds that he honestly doesn't know.

"I also want to be surprised with what there is," he shares with us. "We cannot dictate and predict kung ano ang mga mangyayari, until nandiyan na talaga 'yung actual na mga tao, 'yung mga sasali." Dagdag niya, "from there, at saka natin mafi-feel 'yung excitement. Kapag nag-umpisa na talaga.

"But one thing is for sure: since day one of StarStruck, it has always been exciting." And this batch, he tells us, will not be an exception. "It will still be exciting," he emphasizes.

And the excitement is definitely rising! With new hosts, co-hosts and a mysterious twist labeled 'The Factor Five', marami talagang dapat abangan ang mga manonood sa bagong season ng StarStruck.

We ask Dingdong, kung siya ba ang papipiliin, ano ang hahanapin niya sa susunod na StarStruck winners?

"Someone who is well rounded," he replies. "And not just good in one thing: not just good in acting, not just good in singing—kailangan lahat ‘yun sakop." Dingdong continues, "and definitely should be a people person. 'Yung talagang mahal niya ang trabaho niya, at mahal niya 'yung audience niya."

Kaya sa kasabihang 'Some stars are born, some stars are made,' Dingdong believes that "some stars--just do it."
