Mga nominado sa party-list groups dapat makilatis ng publiko

MANILA – Pabor ang ilang kongresista na pangalanan ng Commission on Elections ang mga nominado sa mga grupong kasali sa party-list elections sa May 2010 na posibleng maging kinatawan sa Kamara de Representantes.

Ayon kay Bayan Muna Rep. Satur Ocampo, karapatan ng mga botante na malaman ng publiko kung sino ang mistulang ibinoboto nila na kakatawan sa kanilang sa kapulungan kapag nanalo.

“It is the people’s right to know, the party-list groups and their nominees must be identified," pagdiin ni Ocampo.

Una rito, nagpahayag si Commission on Elections (Comelec) chairman Jose Melo na dapat maging handa ang mga grupong kasali sa party-list elections na pangalanan ang kanilang mga nominado o kakatawan sa kanilang hanay kapag nanalo ng upuan sa Kamara depende sa dami ng makukuha nilang boto.

Taliwas ito sa dating posisyon ng Comelec na hindi dapat pangalanan ang mga nominado upang hindi bumoto ang mga tao sa party-list group batay sa personalidad ng mga taong nasa likod nito.

Ipinaliwanag naman ni Anak Mindanao Rep. Mujiv Hataman na isang paraan ng transparency sa proseso ng halalan ang pagkilala sa nominado ng grupo upang higit na makilatis ng botante ang grupo na kanilang pipiliin.

Dapat isumite ng mga party-list group na kasali sa party-list elections ang listahan ng kanilang mga nominado na hindi hihigit sa limang tao bago sumapit ang Marso 26, 2010, alinsunod sa Comelec Resolution No. 8691.

Sinabi ni Hataman na impotanteng malaman ng publiko kung sino ang nasa likod ng party-list group dahil kasama sa ibibinigay nilang boto sa grupo ang tiwala sa taong kakatawan sa kanila.

“Kung kilala ng tao ang nominado at hindi nila pinagkakatiwalaan malamang hindi nila iboboto iyon. Pero kapag nanalo na ang party-list group at nalaman nila sa huli na hindi pala nila gusto ang nominado wala ng magagawa ang botante," ipinaliwanag ng kinatawan ng AMIN.

Idinagdag niya na makikita rin sa personalidad ng nominado kung tunay na kumakatawan sa “marginalized" sector ang grupo na kasali sa party list group. - GMANews.TV
