Malinis na halalan titiyakin ni Arroyo kay Hillary Clinton

MANILA – Titiyakin ni Pangulong Gloria Macapagal Arroyo na magiging malinis ang darating na halalan sa Mayo 2010 sa sandaling dumating sa bansa si US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Ayon kay Press Secretary Cerge Remonde, ang inaasahang pagbisita ni Clinton sa susunod na linggo ay magpapatunay ng magandang ugnayan ng dalawang bansa.

“Definitely, that’s exactly the objective that’s what our president is working for, kaya pinu-push niya ang automation of election ... and yan din ang peaceful orderly transition of power, yan ang hangarin ng presidente," pahayag ni Remonde sa dzRB radio nitong Sabado.

“Those issues are the issues where the president and Sec. Clinton will see each other eye to eye and of course with the rest of the world," pahabol ng kalihim.

Ayon kay Remonde, maganda ang relasyon ni Gng Arroyo sa mga Clinton dahil naging kaklase ng Punong Ehekutibo si dating US President William “Bill" Clinton, asawa ni Hillary, sa Georgetown University.

Huling dumalaw sa Pilipinas si Gng Clinton, kasalukuyang Secretary of State sa ilalim ng Obama administration, noong pangulo pa ng US si (Bill) Clinton.

“Modesty aside, former President Clinton speaks very highly of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. Welcome na welcome natin ang visit ni Hillary as Secretary of State," pahayag ni Remonde.

Sinabi sa ulat ng dzRB radio na binibigyan halaga ng pamahalaan ng Pilipinas ang tulong na ibinibigay ng US, kabilang na ang ginawang pagtulong nila sa mga biktima ng mga bagyong.

Inaasahang dadaan si Clinton sa Pilipinas sa Huwebes at tatagal lamang ng 24-oras bago magtungo sa Singapore upang dumalo sa Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (Apec) Leaders’ Summit sa Nov. 19.
