Blast rocks QC minutes before Pacquiao-Cotto bout

An explosion near a church along Kamuning road in Quezon City hurt an undetermined number of people and destroyed cars parked around the area where the blast occurred at noon on Sunday, a radio report said.

DzBB’s Alan Gatus quoted a bystander as saying that a grenade went off near the United Methodist Church in Kamuning, but police have not confirmed what explosive device was used in the incident.

Gatus said windshields of a Honda Civic (WES 770) and a Toyota Corolla (TSS 350) parked nearby were crushed and the vehicles’ trunks were riddled with what appeared to be shrapnel.

A certain Sgt. Puno from the Quezon City Police District said that they received reports that a number of people were injured and were rushed to nearby hospitals. - GMANews.TV
