Ebdane to name VP, senatorial bets on Nov 29

Presidential candidate Hermogenes Ebdane Jr. on Thursday said he would reveal his running mate and senatorial bets on November 29. The standard bearer of the Partido ng Manggagawa at Magsasaka (PMM) refused to give even a hint on who his partner would be and who would compose his senatorial lineup. "Mahirap na sabihin sa ngayon. Baka lumipat bigla sila ng partido sa darating na araw, at tayo pa mapahiya n'yan sa publiko," he said. (It’s difficult to identify them now. They might jump to other parties in the coming days.) Ebdane assured that all the questions regarding his candidacy would be answered on November 29, or three days before the period of filing of certificates of candidacy (COC) with the Commission on Elections (Comelec) ends. The former Public Works secretary said his platform includes programs on peace and unity, infrastructure development and food production, labor and employment, and environmental preservation. He said agriculture would be the main focus of his administration once he is elected president. "We are committed to putting reforms in place, including extending the reach of irrigation, making irrigation fees affordable, modernizing post-harvest facilities, and constructing more farm-to-market roads," he said. Ebdane, who will be up against the likes of Senators Manny Villar and Benigno Simeon “Noynoy" Aquino III next year, said he would not back out from his plan. “I will continue the fight and I have no intention of turning back," he said. - GMANews.TV
