Driver of ill-fated Dagupan bus nabbed in Isabela

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya – Police recently arrested the driver of a Dagupan bus that figured in a fatal road accident in the northern province of Isabela three weeks ago.
Rolando Abarabar who had already recovered from injuries caused by the accident was still at the Isabela Doctor's General Hospital when he was nabbed by authorities by virtue of an arrest order issued by Judge Raul Babaran of the Cauayan City Regional Trial Court - Branch 19.
Abarabar, who faces charges of reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homicide and multiple serious physical injuries with multiple damage to properties, was later brought to the the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology in Cauayan City.
The ill-fated Dagupan Bus with 33 passengers onboard was cruising at a high speed when it rammed on two pick-up trucks on a bridge in Cauayan City’s Tagaran village three days before the annual observance of All Saints Day.
Police blamed Abarabar for the accident that killed nine people and injured 24 others.
A P240,000 bail was set by the court for Abarabar’s temporary liberty. - FLORO TAGUINOD, GMANews.TV
