University of Santo Tomas (UST) and Adamson U hope to arrange a finals showdown when they gun for a sweep of their respective semifinals series Friday in the Shakey’s V-League Season 6 second conference at The Arena in San Juan City.
The Tigresses and Lady Falcons moved a win away of securing the two championship berths after beating their semis foes on Tuesday.

UST drubbed Far Eastern U, 25-20, 25-22, 25-20, while Adamson pulled off a thrilling 17-25, 25-22, 25-22, 11-25, 15-11 decision over reigning five-time NCAA champion San Sebastian.
The Tigresses of coach Cesael De Los Santos try to continue their domination of the Lady Tamaraws this conference while Dulce Pante’s Lady Falcons hope to finally complete their mission of earning another finals stint after winning the title in last year’s first conference.
“Yun lang naman lagi ang nire-remind ko sa kanila na dapat every game yung level ng kanilang laro hindi dapat na bumababa kung talagang gusto nilang makaabot ulit ng finals (I always remind my players that they should keep the same level of intensity if ever they wanted to enter the finals)," said De Los Santos.
Just like in their previous wins, UST will again rely on team captain Aiza Maizo with Ma. Angel Tabaquero, setter Rhea Dimaculangan, rookie Maruja Banaticla and Maika Ortiz’s support in order to earn a second straight finals stint.
Games Friday
The Arena
2 p.m. FEU vs. UST
4 p.m. AdU vs. SSC
The Lady Tams, however, is hoping the combined efforts of guest player Rachel Ann Daquis, Cherry Vivas and Shaira Gonzalez would be enough to snap the Tigresses’ domination and force winner-take all match.
Pante will once again rely on team skipper Angela Benting, who tied a league record 37 hits in Tuesday’s Game 1, and veteran Jill Gustilo in trying to guide the Lady Falcons to the championship round. – GMANews.TV
