Ara Mina, Ogie Diaz file COCs for council seats in QC


Two showbiz personalities have filed their certificates of candidacy (COC) for seats in the Quezon City council, Commission on Elections (Comelec) field officers said Monday. Actress Ara Mina (born Hazel Klenk Reyes) filed her COC for Quezon City’s second district Monday morning. Ara, daughter of former Quezon City councilor Chuck Mathay, will run as an independent candidate in 2010. Last Saturday, entertainment columnist and television host Ogie Diaz (born Roger Pandaan) filed his COC for a seat in the local council representing the city’s fourth district. Another former showbiz personality, incumbent Quezon City Vice Mayor Herbert Bautista, is expected to file his mayoralty bid under the Liberal Party. - LBG/RSJ, GMANews.TV
