Duque still DOH chief, Remonde says

Health Secretary Francisco Duque III would retain his post, Malacañang said on Sunday, following speculations that he had been appointed chairman of the Civil service Commission. Press Secretary Cerge Remonde said that according to Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita, Duque still heads the Department of Health. “‘Yung sa paglipat niya (Duque) sa CSC, wala pa po 'yan. In other words, mananatili siya sa Department of Health (He has not been transferred to the CSC. He will stay at the Health department)," Remonde told reporters in Malacañang. Malacañang is looking for a new CSC head after the Commission on Appointments rejected the reappointment of Ricardo Saludo in October. Earlier reports said Duque was being considered for the post. The Philippine Daily Inquirer cited the medical community grapevine as the source of the rumor. — Sophia Dedace/LBG/NPA, GMANews.TV
