Arroyo in good health after checkup - Remonde

President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo is in good health condition and was allowed to check out of St. Luke's Medical Center (SLMC) Sunday afternoon, Press Secretary Cerge Remonde said. Remonde said the 62-year-old President Arroyo, who checked in at the SLMC Friday night, was in good spirit after finishing her regular medical checkup. “Doctors said she is fine," Remonde told reporters in a text message. President Arroyo went to SLMC Friday night after attending the Christmas party of the Office of the President to undergo her regular medical checkup in preparation for her visit to Copenhagen in Denmark in Dec. 16-19 for the Climate Change Summit. She checked out of the hospital briefly Saturday afternoon to preside over the Cabinet security cluster meeting, where she approved the lifting of martial law in Maguindanao. Remonde said the President would resume her regular work schedule on Monday, which includes a visit to Cotabato City, now under a state of emergency due to the massacre in adjacent Maguindanao province that left 57 people dead. Last July, President Arroyo underwent a biopsy at the Asian Hospital and Medical Center following the discovery of some lumps in her breast and groin. The growth turned out to be benign. - KBK, GMANews.TV
