Arroyo vows to be media friendly next year

As part of her New Year’s resolution, President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo has vowed to be an "easier subject" for journalists covering her. “Thank you all for your patience with me. I know I'm not an easy subject to cover, but I hope that in the remaining months of my administration, I'll be an easier subject for you," President Arroyo said during the Christmas party of the Malacañang Press Corps Tuesday evening. “And even if it's late in the day, I still continue with my New Year's resolution to be an easier subject to cover," she added, eliciting laughter and chuckles from those present in the party. President Arroyo, who is running for Congress representing the second district of Pampanga in next year's elections, also took the opportunity to thank the media people for their “patience." “I'd like to take this opportunity to greet you all, thank you all for your patience with me… Christmas time is a time when we renew our good feelings towards one another. And I'm happy that even if this is the last Christmas that we will spend together in Malacañang," she said. Mrs. Arroyo, who addressed the Malacañang press before she left for Copenhagen for the Climate Change talks, is known for her temper and fiery remarks. Last month, she accused some members of the media of giving her a “bad boy" image. - Aie Balagtas See/KBK, GMANews.TV
