Bounty for road rage killing suspect raised to P1 million

Government agents on Thursday raised to P1 million the reward money for any information that could lead to the arrest of Jason Ivler, the suspect in the road rage killing of a Malacañang official's son. A report aired over GMA News' "24 Oras" said the family of the victim, 27-year-old Renato Ebarle Jr., has doubled the P500,000 bounty to ensure Ivler's arrest. The offer was made after law enforcers on Wednesday failed anew to arrest Ivler, who was reportedly spotted in Blue Ridge Subdivision in Quezon City where his mother, Marlene Aguilar, resides. "Mataas ang probability na may nagkakanlong sa kanya (The probability is high that he is being coddled). It's either his relatives or friends," said Angelito Magno, chief of the National Bureau of Investigation's Special Action Unit. Ivler, the nephew of folk singer Freddie Aguilar and stepson of British diplomat Stephen James Pollard, has been the subject of a nationwide manhunt for fatally shooting Ebarle during a traffic altercation in Boni Serrano Avenue last November 18. Ebarle was the only son of Presidential Chief of Staff Renato Ebarle Sr. The Bureau of Immigration has placed Ivler, who is in his late 20s, under its watch list. - Aie Balagtas See/KBK, GMANews.TV
