Miriam to bring disqualification issue to Arroyo

Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago will bring to President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo’s attention the disqualification case filed against her in connection with her reelection bid in next year's elections. In a radio interview Sunday, Santiago said she would just let President Arroyo deal with the Cabinet official whom she accused of having a hand in the disqualification case and also for the death threats she claims she has been receiving. “Gagawin ko na lang, ipahiwatig ko lang kay Presidente sa pamamagitan ng sulat (I will just inform her through a letter). Dear Misis President, I very respectfully informing you that this petition for disqualification I believe came from this Cabinet member for the following reasons," she said in an interview on dzBB radio. “Di ko na sasabihin kung anong dapat gagawin, bahala na ang Presidente (I will not tell her what to do, I leave it up to her to deal with that Cabinet member)," she added. Santiago last week claimed she has been receiving death threats from a member of Arroyo’s official family. She also accused the same official of masterminding the disqualification case filed against her at the Commission on Elections (Comelec). She said she would identify the official once the Senate resumes its session in January. Both houses of Congress are to resume session on Jan. 19. Santiago said she would also name the “three kings" of the Cabinet official. “And I will also identify, although I will not yet name them, the three kings of this Cabinet member . . . the Three Kings of character assassination." - KBK, GMANews.TV
