3 dead in Benguet veggie van crash

Three people were killed and four others injured after a delivery van carrying vegetables bound for Metro Manila crashed onto a mountainside in Benguet province on Tuesday night.
Police Subinspector John Ingtitan of Benguet police said the van, carrying vegetables for delivery to Pangasinan and Metro Manila, crashed onto a mountainside along Marcos Highway in Tuba town after the driver lost control of the vehicle while descending a steep road section.
Killed in the accident were driver Rolando Alcantara, truck helper Albert Flora and another passenger, Pio Concencio.
Among those wounded were Junjun Sabili, who suffered a fractured skull due to the accident; Catherine Ortiz, whose shoulder was fractured; and Aida Maslang and Laura Castro, who suffered face injuries.
The four were brought to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center for treatment after the accident. – Andreo C. Calonzo/JV, GMANews.TV
