3 men posing as cops hijack truck in Manila

More than two months after the notorious Alvin Flores Gang was believed neutralized, a robbery using the gang's modus operandi took place in Manila before dawn Wednesday. Radio dzBB reported that men posing as policemen on three motorcycles, hijacked a 10-wheeler truck in Manila, and dumped the truck driver and his helper in Pasay City. "They dumped us from a van, our hands still tied with packing tape, but I managed to untie myself. We ran and asked help from local tricycle drivers who brought us to a police precinct," driver Rey Wang said in Filipino at the Pasay City Police Station 2. The Alvin Flores Gang was notorious in 2009 for having its members pose as lawmen in gaining entry to an establishment they were targeting. But the gang was believed neutralized in late October after its members, including Flores himself, were shot dead in an encounter with government agents. Initial investigation showed Wang and Navaja were delivering some P900,000 worth of noodles from Southern Luzon to Metro Manila, and were passing the Dimasalang area in Manila when three men on motorcycles blocked their path and claimed to be policemen. When the truck (DXJ-771) stopped, the men brandished handguns and hijacked the truck, while forcing Wang and Navaja into a van. A separate report on dzXL radio said the men threatened to kill the two, but dumped them at Dominga Street in Pasay City when they pleaded for their lives. - RSJ/LBG, GMANews.TV
