Gibo, Edu to bring campaign to schools this March

Administration presidential bet Gilberto “Gibo" Teodoro Jr. and his running mate Edu Manzano will make the rounds of graduation rites this year as part of their campaign for the May elections.

Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita said a number of universities and colleges have invited Teodoro and Manzano, and that the two accepted them to introduce themselves to the public more.

“Former (Defense) secretary Teodoro together with Edu Manzano is really moving around all over the Philippines. They’ve a very tight schedule, especially approaching the graduation period in March," he said.

Ermita said graduation ceremonies and sorties and even debates held in schools are important as students are likely to relay positive feedbacks to their parents.

Both Teodoro and Manzano are not faring well in recent surveys, but Ermita said the tandem is gaining support from the “A and B class," or the rich and elite classes of society.

Ermita conceded that there is a need for the two to reach out to the masses.

Kinakailangan lang iyan maiparating sa masa. Ngayon, kung papaano ang pamapamaraan na ginagawa ng partido, iyan ang ating dapat makita (We’ve to bring the campaign to the masses. How it will be done by the party, that’s what we should see), whether it will make a difference between now and the elections," he said.

Teodoro and Manzano belong to the Lakas-Kampi-CMD party, where Ermita is the head of its national advisory board. - KBK, GMANews.TV
