Murder case vs Lacson vindicates Erap - Jinggoy

The filing of double murder case against Sen. Panfilo Lacson in connection with the Dacer-Corbito twin killings is testament to the innocence of former President Joseph Estrada, his son said on Thursday. “It only shows that the wheels of justice are working in this country," said Senate Pro Tempore Jose "Jinggoy" Estrada in a chance interview with reporters. He stressed that no evidence has been produced to directly link his father to the abduction and murder of publicist Salvador “Bubby" Dacer and his driver Emmanuel Corbito in Nov. 2000.

“Wala silang ebidensiya laban kay (They really don’t have any evidence against) President Estrada. Hearsay, all hearsay," Jinggoy said. Lacson, a former ally of the elder Estrada, had tagged the former president to the decade-old case. He said Estrada had micro-managed the now defunct Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Task Force (PAOCTF), which is implicated in the case, during his short-lived term. Lacson was the chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP) and also the PAOCTF in a concurrent capacity during Estrada’s stint in Malacañang. Jinggoy, however, distanced himself from the case filed against Lacson. At least he will be given a chance to prove his innocence in court," he said. - Amita Legaspi/KBK, GMANews.TV
