RP deports Saudi national who posed as pilot at NAIA

The Saudi Arabian who was arrested at a Philippine airport last week was deported to his home country Saturday night. Hani Bokhari, 19 years old, apologized to Philippine authorities for posing as a pilot at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 (NAIA-1) last Monday, January 11. Bokhari can no longer return to the Philippines after Bureau of Immigration blacklisted him for being an overstaying alien and for the complaint the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) lodged against him. Bokhari was nabbed by aviation security officials last Monday afternoon after loitering NAIA-1 grounds for hours while wearing a pilot's uniform. He said he was waiting for his father's arrival from Saudi Arabia. He, however, could not explain why he had to wear a pilot's uniform. Bokhari was then taken to a detention facility in Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City, the headquarters of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO). MIAA general manager Alfonso Cusi earlier admitted that lapses in the airport's security system allowed for Bokhari to breach security measures. Cusi warned those who attempt to violate airport security policies would be punished to the full extent of the law. - with Sophia Dedace/LBG, GMANews.TV
