Floods kill 2 children in Agusan del Sur - report

Two young girls were killed after flash floods hit a town in Agusan del Sur province in Mindanao over the weekend, local civil defense officials said Monday.
Radio dzXL cited a report from the Office of the Civil Defense in Caraga initially identifying the fatalities as Lovely, 9; and Jolene Encarnacion, 11.
Both fatalities drowned after floods hit their home in Tagapua village in San Francisco town on Sunday afternoon.
As of 8 a.m. Monday, at least 226 families were evacuated from their homes due to flooding in the Agusan area.
These included 195 families from Jabonga town in Agusan del Norte, and 31 in Prosperidad town in Agusan del Sur.
The floods also rendered impassable many areas in San Francisco, the report said. - RSJ, GMANews.TV
