Now in LA: Pacman sees great fight vs Clottey

Filipino ring icon Manny Pacquiao is now in the United States to start the pre-fight publicity and preparations for what he anticipates as a great fight with Joshua Clottey of Ghana. Arriving to a huge welcome at the LAX on a rainy Sunday night (Monday morning in Manila), Pacquiao said he looks forward to fighting Clottey in an exciting showdown on March 13 at the Cowboys Stadium in Dallas. “Abangan ninyo po ang Clottey fight sa March 13, maganda ito, a very exciting fight," Pacquiao said before TV cameras that covered his arrival in Los Angeles.

The reigning pound-for-pound king will spend the night in LA, then travel to Dallas Monday morning for a press conference formally announcing the PPV card dubbed “The Event." The next day, the Pacman will fly to New York for a second media gab at the Madison Square Garden Theater. According to PhilBoxing.Com, Pacquiao will open his training camp by Thursday morning. Pacquiao himself is confident his training team, headed by Freddie Roach, will be able to whip him into tip top shape and devise a strategy that will make him victorious yet again. “Pag-aaralan pa namin ni Freddie Roach kung ano’ng gagawin naming strategy. Pero sigurado ako na talagang maganda ang gagawin namin," he earlier told GMA News during a send-off party in Manila. Pacquiao will defend his World Boxing Organization welterweight title against the tough Clottey. The Ghanaian challenger earlier unsuccessfully vied for the same belt but dropped a split decision to Miguel Cotto, who eventually yielded the strap to Pacquiao. - GMANews.TV
