LP member, volunteer shot dead in Pagadian


ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – A local candidate under the Liberal Party and a party volunteer were separately gunned down in the southern Philippine city of Pagadian over the weekend. The two were identified as Motalliden Tapodoc, 35, who running for councilor in Labangan town in Zamboanga del Sur in the May 10 elections, and Hamira Agcong, 44. Tapodoc was shot seven times Sunday by two motorcycle-riding gunmen near the Philippine Independent Church while Agcong was shot in front of her son Saturday night. Investigators are still determining if the two incidents were related. The killings brought to three the number of LP members and supporters who were killed since last month. Last January 14, two gunmen shot dead Marciliano Dizon, campaign coordinator of LP standard bearer Sen. Benigno “Noynoy" Aquino III in Pampanga province. - Al Jacinto/KBK, GMANews.TV
