Press Secretary Cerge Remonde found unconscious

(Updated 12:18 p.m.) At twelve noon doctors at the Makati Medical Center were still trying to revive Press Secretary Cerge Remonde after he was found unconscious on Tuesday morning. According to government radio staion dzRB, quoting a doctor from MMC, Remonde was found unconscious in the bathroom of his residence in Bel-Air village in Makati City. "As far as I know he is in the process of being revived but this can change from minute to minute," said deputy presidential spokesperson Gary Olivar in an interview on dzMM. Olivar said Remonde was rushed to the hospital due to a "heart incident." "As soon as I get information, I will give a press briefing," he said, adding that he was on his way to the Palace in Manila. In a separate interview on dzBB radio, dzRB reporter Marie Peña Ruiz quoted MMC's Dr. Eric Nubla as saying that Remonde was "not responding to resuscitation and medication."
