Bullets that killed Ebarle match Ivler’s gun – NBI chief

The bullets that killed Renato Ebarle Jr. last year were from slay suspect Jason Ivler’s firearm, the chief of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) said Thursday. "Yung na-recover na slugs sa body at sa sasakyan ni Ebarle, according to our ballistics test, nag-match sa .45-caliber gun nitong si Ivler (The slugs recovered from Ebarle’s body and vehicle matched Ivler’s .45-caliber gun, according to our ballistics test)," NBI director Nestor Mantaring told GMANews.TV in a phone interview. Ebarle, son of Presidential Chief of Staff Renato Ebarle Sr., was shot allegedly by Ivler last November 18 on Boni Serrano Avenue in Quezon City. Ivler was arrested by NBI operatives in his mother's home in Quezon City last Monday. Recovered from Ivler were an AR-15 and a .45-cal. Pistol, both unlicensed. During the operations, Ivler traded shots with the NBI agents. He and two other NBI agents, Ana Labao and Angelito Magno, were hurt in the shootout. As of Thursday, Ivler was still confined at the Quirino Memorial Medical Center in Quezon City even as his condition remained stable. - RSJ/LBG, GMANews.TV
